I was a contributing member of the Embedded Xinu team at Marquette University from Summer 2006 through Summer 2009, under the advising of Dr. Dennis Brylow. Embedded Xinu is an educational operating system designed with simplicity in mind. Xinu was first developed in the mid-1980s; Embedded Xinu is targeted to Linksys wireless routers, including the Linksys WRT54GL. My contributions included a re-writing of the UART and TTY drivers, the development of a user shell, implementation of mailboxes for inter-process communication, and a network stack implementation.
I presented a poster on Real-Time Transport Control Protocol (TCP) for Embedded Devices at the ACM Student Research Competition at SIGCSE 2009. I placed third at the conference.
