Learning is my lifelong passion. In the fall of 2009 I began attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison to earn my Ph.D. in computer science. Through a breadth and depth of coursework and research, I hope to prepare myself to be a strong contributor to the field of computer science. At SIGCSE 2008, Ed Lazowska spoke on the need for computer scientists to solve a number of engineering challenges in the 21st century. Developing technologies that make a difference requires the expertise and perseverance of computer scientists like myself. I want to be a part of the next step forward.
My research area of interest is networking. I am currently performing research at the University of Wisconsin - Madison under the direction of Dr. Aditya Akella.
I am currently co-planning the Spring 2011 CS department's Welcome Weekend for prospective graduate students. During my first year of graduate studies a fellow CS graduate student and I were responsible for TGIF--a weekly department social event held on Friday afternoons. Some of our great theme weeks included a green color theme for Halloween, a tea party for the start of the annual Beard Off, an anti-valentine's day theme, and the Olympics.
